How it works

To add or maintain substances on the approved list, the initiative ensures:
  • Fair cost-sharing among participants
  • Confidentiality in data exchange
  • Structured agreements designed to support market stability
  • Technical expertise

Technical scope

The dossier to be submitted will define the MCTtap value required for material certification. This is based on a risk assessment combining:
  • Toxicological data on the substance
  • Migration data from materials, derived from standard testing and specific use conditions

Who can contribute and participate to the initiative

Several stakeholders may provide essential data:
  • Manufacturers / Importers: holders of analytical, physico-chemical, and toxicological data
  • Downstream Users: experts in specific applications who can provide or generate migration data

The initiative introduces a structured collaborative model based on formal agreements between participating companies.

It ensures data protection, fair access, and transparent cooperation among all participants.
